We provide medical care of the patients with pulmonary hypertension, acute pulmonary embolism and adult congenital heart disease. Some patients with severe pulmonary hypertension need to transplant lungs or continuous infusion of prostaglandin I2 analogue. We can transplant lungs in Tohoku university hospital.
Thus, we treat many patients with severe pulmonary hypertension. Moreover, we provide balloon pulmonary angioplasty (BPA), which improves the prognosis of chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH).
The number of the sessions of BPA has going up every year (Following Figure) and there are few complications.
